The cosy Italian restaurant, Narrabundah’s La Cantina, was the perfect setting to hear highly-acclaimed broadcaster and former foreign correspondent, Nick Bryant, share insights from his vast experience in reporting on many major international events. Now the host of Radio National’s Saturday Extra, Nick attended the gathering to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Friends of the ABC. As a regular columnist for many Australian and major international newspapers and journals, Nick has myriad interesting stories to tell, including those related to the Afghanistan War, the election of Barak Obama, Donald Trump’s presidency and contemporary America. Nick has also written a number of books including The Forever War: America’s Unending Conflict with Itself. He has a history degree from Cambridge University, and a PhD in US politics from Oxford.
